Garlic Flatbread Recipe - Ramadan Recipe

This flat bread recipe is so easy to make. No oven needed and simple ingredients in all kitchens. My family and kids enjoy it and cannot stop eating it. It is so good with any soup and great for dipping with hummus and any other dips you like.


1 Tbsp Instant Yeast
1 Tbsp White Sugar
1 1/4 Cup Warm Milk
2 1/2 Cups Flour
1 1/4 tsp Salt
1/4 Cup Vegetable Oil

For Topping:

2 -3 tbsp unsalted butter (melt) 
1 Tbsp chopped parsley 
3 cloves garlic, minced

Directions :

- In a big mixing bowl add 1 Tbsp Instant Yeast, 1 Tbsp White Sugar, and 1 1/4 cup of Warm Milk, then stir. Cover the bowl with a clean cloth for 2-3 minutes, the yeast will immediately start to dissolve and the mixture will become silky, foamy, and bubbly.

- Then add the 1 1/4 tsp Salt, 1/4 cup Vegetable Oil, and 2 1/2 cups of Flour. Give them a good mix.

- Knead the dough for about 4-5 min. The dough should be sticky and soft.
- Add a few drops of oil to the dough bowl, cover the dough, then leave it in warm place for 1 hour or until it doubles in size.

- Sprinkle your table with flour. Divide your dough into 8 equal parts, shape them into 8 balls. Place one of them on a clean surface.

How to Make the Garlic Bread Topping:

- Use a rolling pin, flat every ball into circle. Transfer the dough into a baking sheet. Cover the them with a clean cloth till you roll out all the 8 balls. (watch the video for more details)

Grill the Flatbread:

- Bring a frying pan into medium heat, place the dough in it after 10 seconds flip the dough, then grill it 2-3 min per side. Incredibly your bread will be buff out with big air packet!

- Use a ricer to mince the garlic clove, or grate the garlic on a microplane.
- Finely chop the parsley.

- In a mixing bowl add the minced garlic, and the melted butter, mix them till well combined.
 - Brush the warm flatbread with the garlic butter mixture, and sprinkle some of the chopped parsley, and red pepper (optional)

- Place the bread garlic butter mixture over bread.
