How to Make Jam Tart - Jam Pie - Mabrosha

This is easy and great recipe for Jam Tart that can be done in no time. It is made from simple ingredients available in every kitchen. My favorite is the the orange jam tart but you can use any jam for this great pie recipe. It is great when served with hot tea or coffee. It is also known as Mabrosha in the middle eastern kitchen.

Ingredients For Jam Tart :

4 tbsp unsalted butter, room temperature
1/4 cup fine sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 egg

1 tsp baking powdered
1 cup flour

For toping:
5-6 tbsp jam (any kind of jam: marmalade, strawberry, or blueberry)

Directions For Jam Tart :

- Preheat the oven to 320ºF/ 160ºC. Grease a 9-inch tart pan or a pie pan then place a parchment paper.

- In a deep mixing bowl add 1 cup of flour, 1/2 tsp of salt, and 1tsp of baking powdered, and mix them till well combined, then set it aside.

- In a separate deep mixing bowl or in a stand mixture beat up 4 tbsp unsalted butter (room temperature) with 1/4 cup fine sugar at a LOW speed for a couple of minutes, scrape, then beat them on medium speed until the mixture is smooth. (you can use a hand mixer or a stand mixer for best result)

- Add 1/2 tsp of vanilla, 1 egg, and the flour mixture over the creamy sugar and butter mixture, knead the dough till it comes together. The dough will be smooth.

- Turn dough out onto clean work surface, shape the dough into a cylinder. Cut 1/3 of the dough, and keep it aside for now, we're gonna use it later for the toppings. Use the rest of the dough ;the 2/3 and spread it evenly over the prepared tart pan, then add 5-6 tbsp of any type of jam over the flatted dough and spread it. Evenly grate the 1/3 of the dough that we reserved it earlier over the jam, try to cover the jam.

- Bake in the preheated oven 320ºF/ 160ºC for 15–20 minutes or until golden brown.

- Let it cool completely before slicing. Enjoy with friends and family.
